Anyone drivin\' a 2WD \'kick?

I found one today that I can get for $1800.00.

It's a BRIGHT LIME GREEN 95 2WD with 75K on it. Options are: Automatic, AC, Power Steering, AM/FM Cassette, etc...basically standard stuff. Unfortunatley, it's an 8V. It's not real clean and has been basically unused for 2 years. A mouse has pooped in it. I need to do some minor maintenance stuff to it (clean/or replace top, clean up mouse poop, fix the shoddy stereo install). There are a couple of dents on the hood near the latch. The guy does keep it started and backs it in and out of the driveway occassionally. I started it up and it turned over the first time. I was thinking aobut getting it and just using it for a 'kick around car...

I know it sounds kinda "sick" but I really liked that 2WD low rider that was on eBay a couple of months back. Maybe I could drop this one a bit and put some decent rims and tires on it.

I just wanted to hear if anyone has one or not and if it's a decent run around car. I sure do wish it was a 16V...

My X90 is 2WD right now, but that is gonna change as soon as I gather all of the parts for my 4WD conversion. But it has been a great ride the 5 years I have owned it. The SWB Sidekick/Tracker/Vitara/X90 vehicles make great little cruisers. $1800 sounds a little high for one with an 8 valve and bad case of neglect though. I would say go for the lowrider Sidekick, but maybe hold out for a 16 valve. I think you'll be happier in the long run with the extra power on the street.

the 8v should be fine i fyou are gonna lowrider it and run rican radials.. it should have 4.62's in the rear.

BAG it and some 16's you'll be pimpin..

1800 sounds somewhat reasonable, but always offer less.

Re: Anyone drivin\' a 2WD \'kick?

Sidekicks have been offered in either 2 or 4wd with the 1.6L 16valve. JS/JLS models were 2WD while the JX/JLX models were 4WD.

I agree with Mini4x though, drop it and get some nice rims on it. You could get 17s on it or if you are really daring 18s. And there are several body kits available for them. Just personally though, if I was gonna build a lowrider/street truck, I would go with a 16valve and a 5spd.

Apparently the 16 valves are had to come by around here and if they do come up for sale they either have high miles or they're wrecked.

I've included a pic of the lowrider 'kick I liked...
