I just thought it would be cool if some of the regulars (and newbies) got together at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab this coming year. It would be nice to see some of the faces.

Moab is amazingly beautiful and you dont need a 44" beast to do it. A stocker would have plenty of fun.

Anyone initially interested?

I know ya throw the names of these place around like it no concern, but if awful hard to decide wheather to go if you really do not know what state it in or what part of united states. when you speak of these places could you include a town and state too.

If we could we would love to go. We been busy running about 1000 mi a week between
Omaha Neb. and Sioux Falls S.D. on a cancer fight for the wife.
For us lets try for 2001. That would let you people break the new ground.
You never know maybe it would work this year.
I think it be fun there is so many on this board thats been a great help.

Greg...

Best of luck with the fight.

BB,
Moab is located in southeastern Utah. Have a look at the geography and beauty....

For more complete info ...

http://www.4x4now.com/mu4wd.htm or just go to a decent search engine and type in Moab.

It is captivating on many different levels. Even if there was no Jeeps allowed this place is a must see! I'm planning on also doing some flyfishing.... any of you guys know if the Green or Colorado have decent areas around Moab for this sort of thing? Since I'm an avocational archaeologist I will be in heaven exploring the many Anasazi ruins and petroglyphs.

Gregg,
Just wanted to send along my best wishes for your wife, family and to you personally. I know what it is like, as my mom and sister have been fighting breast cancer. So far, all has been OK and they have been survivors for two years now. I hope that all goes well for your wife and family as well.

Best Regards,
Jim Young

I would love to go to the Moab and meet you guys. Living in the southernmost part of Louisiana makes that kind of impossible. I have too much going on right now: work, school, getting married, trying to save for a house, etc...
I know I rarely post here because I am new to jeeps and not a good mechanic, but I do read just about daily and have learned more than I could have ever imagined. I would like to thank all the guys who answers the questions regularly and my condolences go out to Greg and his wife.
As I learn I will post more.
Thanks for the help Guys and Gals.

Gregg,
Best of wishes with your fight. My wife just survived cancer. Remember, no matter how grim it is, hang
in there. The only fight you lose is the one you quit fighting.
As far as Moab, I'm going to try and have my CJ-6 running by then. Won't be painted or anything but gonna
try and be there. If I go I will be camped most likely with the Jolly Jeepers. (Kevin Cooper, 6x, Rich Imholt,
Bad Bee, Steve Regula, Pinball Whizzer, Tom Telford from Warn.)
Sounds like a wonderful idea. Be kinda cool to put faces with personalities. Nickmil.

Moab is a must for those who have set up their rigs for rock crawling. The trails are challenging and the desert scenery is breath taking. Easter Week, however, is a zoo and takes preplanning to enjoy. The Red Rock 4-Wheelers set up quided trails all week long. by Friday there is over 3000 rigs in town. A first timer should not try to run the trails on their own. sign up with the Red Rock gang and they will show you the best trails for your jeeps capabilities and your interests. You must sign up by late February or all the trail rides are filled. Contact Red Rock 4-Wheelers inc, PO box 1471, Moab, UT 84532-1471 for an application. They also send info on motels, Trailer Parks and camping sites that sell out quickly.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind words and encouragement. I been kind of blowed away
by eveyones kindness and not knowing what to say. Bev is doing very well there have been alot
of follow up after the two operations. We have had the bejebers scared out of us twice but found
out it was mistakes. One time they even had Bev PG from 7or8 days ago about the time of the
operations .That was no way unless it was something I did not know about./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif
With maligant melanoma It lurks about and you never know when or where it will
show up agin. So far we have been very lucky.

Gregg, its very good to hear things are going well right now and I pray that that will continue for you and your wife.

YJ94, I dont know for sure how far it is from LA, but it is probably only about 6-8 hours past Vegas though. Havent ever driven it, but it is only about 6 hours to Salt Lake from Vegas, and you get off of I15 onto I70 several hours before Salt Lake, and then I am guessing a couple of hours on I70. So It shouldnt be that hard of a haul, I know lots of people from SoCal go each year. Hope to see you there.

Larry, sounds like a great idea. I always enjoy Moab and I am sure there are quite a few others here that do too. What did you have in mind?

I really dont have anything in mind....just seeing what type of interest there is.

I'll bring this up again in early January and those interested could start to discuss it on a more serious level.
