There wasn't a Bash last year, apparently because I was out of town and nobody else wanted to pick a date. This year I don't plan to be gone, so I will eventually set a date. Traditionally we hold it between Mother's Day and Memorial Day, which would be the the weekend of May 14th or May 21st. I would lean toward the later date, but it doesn't really matter, so if anyone has a preference, post it up.

Who is interested in coming? Has anybody been by Steam Corner lately?

When ever is likely fine... But the weather might be better the first weekend in June.

Nope have not been anywhere near Steam Corner.

The Jeep Jamboree folks will be all organized and we will be all random as usual. Can't imagine that there will be enough of them to impact us very much. I have been there for Toys for Tots events that you couldn't move around the park, not great wheeling but a whole lot of BS'n while sitting around. All good so whatever folks want to do.

I just didn't know if the park would be open or if JJ would have it exclusively for that day.

I called Badlands. Jeep Jamboree will not have exclusive use, park open as usual. The individual that I talked with has no idea of the number of Jeeps coming.

Would like to see Pat but Memorial day the place will surely be packed.

For a long time I've wondered if a Jamboree would be fun, but the more I see of them the less I think of the idea.
I think it depends on which one. I have participated in 2 Ouchita Jamborees, 1998 and 2004. In 1998 I still had a lot to learn about being off-road and learned the value of airing down. In 2004 I just had a great time. It wasn't a lot different from our early bashes. Even after all these years, I would still go on one. (If I get motivated to fix my Jeep this year, I might even volunteer as a trail guide this fall.)

Well, I've picked a day. A weekend, actually. It will be May 12th to 15th. Toby and I will roll in some time Thursday afternoon and probably leave Sunday morning, as usual.

I haven't called Don and Ruth yet but will do that this afternoon. If Steam Corner isn't available I could be talked into staying at the Badlands campground. They don't allow alcoholic beverages outside, but I have heard that nobody bothers people who aren't rising a ruckus.

It will be May 12th to 15th!

And it is so... Guess that I should work on the junk a little.

Maybe even brace up the drivers seat to avoid sitting on the exhaust but then again since the exhaust is new it is stronger than the tub.

Jim did you talk to Don and Ruth?

Tried, but no joy. So I looked up Stream Corner on the internet and got another number. It went to Tony who says he and Deena bought it from the Staggs four years ago. He said that he'll get the power turned on by then, and glad to have us.

I hope we can come up with more than four Jeeps for putting him through that. He said it costs $300 a month to have the power on, but I guess he'll have to have it on for the Memorial Day flea market. Toby and I can run on our generators. If you guys can get by without power, or use power from our coaches I'll tell him not to bother. Two weeks will probably cost him $150, which he'll never get back from us.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Can we make it the Weekend of the 20th? Please! Toby and I got our signals crossed. He has a friend flying up from Florida to go with us on the 20th!

My bad! That's what happens when you let the feeble-minded do stuff.
