I think if you hit a few yards and look in some AMC passenger cars with the 258 you may get lucky and find the bracket. Heres a scan from my '79 FSM. Its not great, but it shows the location of the AC unit.

The Wagoneer I got my york from had the compressor mounted sideways.
From what I have read on a bunch of web pages:
It should not blow any more oil when mounted sideways then when mounted straight up and down as long as you do not over fill it.
If your compressor is well worn you will have better luck mounting it straight up and down.
