I got problems I've always had problems, but sence I got burnt on this jeep I bought 8 months ago I have serious problems. I've welded more metal into that thing than I think it origionaly came with!!! the boody mostly anyway my question.

I decided I better check the rear axle fluid and I thought it may have a locker or it was welded I popped the cover off and thnot a drop came out I'm fine with that because I checked EVERYTHING over and it's all fine but I may change the bearings and races but the rearend was welded to my regret and it's cracked I think I caught it in time cause it didn't blow apart and kill everything. but what can I do, can it be rewelded and how if possiable I really want to try and save it cause it's a dana 44 but I want the low down and aall the info I can get on welded diffs. the spider gears are no good so I want to try and save what I can. Sorry for the lenght of the question but please any info or comments would be more than a help it be a savuior.

Thanks
Chad

So to heat it up I can just use a oxyastoline torch? Just enough so that the weld penitrates, because the gears are harden steel so they would crack if heated too much because they'd lose their temper wouldn't they?
