Air intake kits

My 95 F350 dually with 7.5L has a K&N Filter kit on it. With the increased air flow the air intake tubes partially collapse under hard acceleration. I already removed the noise baffles. Is there a manufacturer out there that makes a cold air intake that also replaces the dual air tube set up?Or is there some other fix?

There are no supports inside the tubes. They are ribbed on the outside. But something does not seem right where you are actually sucking in the tubes. Where are the baffles you are referring to? I think I can look straight through my dual tubes, same exact as yours, or so I thought. Also, how do you know they are sucking in while accelerating?

The tubes have no springs inside and the filter(K&N F.I.P Kit) is brand new and properly oiled. The tubes feel really soft. You can duplicate the collapse by popping the throttle body by hand. I think they are just worn out or had too much armor all on them or something. Also, the bends in the tubes don't look right to me, the area in the bends look kinda flat. I wish I had a digital camera to show a pic.Maybe its just time to replace them, but would like something bettter or at least better looking to replace them with.

The tubes with the ribbing on the outside are the ones I was looking for. I checked under the hood of another truck and they are indeed stiffer than the ones I have. The baffles(for noise reduction)are kinda shaped like coke bottles and removing them( I did that years ago) helped allot from the get go. Does anyone know where or from what year make and model the tubes with the ribbing on it come from. ?Or anything to replace these with?

My 86 has rubber hose with springs inside between the filter box and the intake. In 87 they moved the filter box to the corner and started using the ribbed plastic hose. I looked on a 97 F250 (before the body change) and it had the same ribbed hose setup. I'm guessing you have a few years to chose from!

That's why I am a little perplexed, yours is a '95 right? That is what I have and my 351 has the rubber tubes with outside ribbing. Fairly stiff, so I don't see how they would ever collapse. And I think there are no baffles inside. When I punch the accelerator it sures makes a lot of noise ( sure wish I would get more takeoff for all that noise, oh well that's weight for ya).

Mine also has the "coil spring" inside the air intake tubes also. My truck is a 1990 F-150 with a 302 engine.
I just got rid of that air box and went to the K&N for that year which eliminates the box ang comes straight from the throttle body, through the stock tubes, then into the open element K&N which is located where the old air box was. It took approx. 1 hour to install and works great. I wonder if the tubes from a 1990 would work on the 1995 trucks? If so, you may try swaping. I hope this helps a bit.

I Just got a look under the hood of a 1994 F350 with the 351 engine. The ribbed intake tubes look allot sturdier but the throttlebody sits low and to the front of the engine. This changes the hose routing allot. I have yet to find a set with the ribbing or the springs in them that look just like my stock set up. Also-no one has seen a stainless replacement for our vehicles? There are so many cold air intake kits on the market but none of them are for 92-95 7.5L For now I have used a 2/14 Shop vac tube to reenforce mine and it seems to work for now.Wednesday I will get my exhaust replaced and the guy whom owns the shop is going to try and manufacture replacement tubes for my Truck. Let you know how it turned out.
