ok, as ive posted about a few times, im planning on sometime this summer replacing my carpet with one of those vinyl floors and my bench seat with aftermarket buckets. i really like the mastercraft seats and was planning on those only drawback is they are $275 a piece. this is my daily driver and i plan on it being so for a good while so im putting money into it instead of buying a new truck, so i dont want cheapo uncomfortable seats. i always thought Corbeau made race & high performance sports car only seats that were real expensive. i visited their website and saw the Baja SS style which is a lot like the mastercraft PreRuns i want but only $154. both are suspension seats, 1 difference is the corbeaus are part vinyl, part cloth but thats not a BIG deal. anyways - does anyone have experience with either (or maybe another brand)? i know there are two articles here on offroad.com about mastercrafts that make them sound great. thanks for all the help i just want to spend my money on the best ones!

Well, I've heard only good things about the Corbeau seats, but that was from guys that had the expensive ones in like BMWs and porches. But the company defiently has a good reputation from what I've heard.

I can't help you much on which brand to buy, but a good friend of mine also replaced his bench seat with bucket seats. He said after he did the switch it actually put him closer to the wheel even with the seat all the way back. I've seen it but never drove his truck so I have to take his word for it. I wouldn't see how replacing the bench with buckets would change your seating position closer to the wheel but according to him it does.

thanks redhalfton. i am going to put a slider on my drivers seat so i can adjust it (in case my mom or g/f need to drive it) so i wont have a problem with that. i just found out theres a corbeau dealer a couple miles down the road so im gonna call him tomorrow and go check out their seats see if i like em. theyre cheaper so thats a good thing! /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

inform us what you find. I've been wanting to get those bucket seets with the fold up console that turns to a seat (since it seems like I carry 3 people alot) from JC Whitney & Summit but they are arou $600 or so for cloth (don't want vinyl or whatever the other option is). Anyways, tell us whatcha find. Thanx

I have the Beard seats in my 2-1600 buggy with 5 pt harnesses and they are a very comfy seat.. Can't wait to go from the motorhome seat to those.. ( i think its the view and action but?!?!/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif) I have sat in those Mastercraft pre runners at one of the shows and I didn't want to leave.. Very nice.. I have heard from a lot of the prerunner guys that the Corbeau seats are junk and no one seems to race them off-road (or not very many).. Another company bought them a few years back and they went down hill in quality.. The stitching just does not last long.. Any way, getting a good suspension seat is money well spent.. A very nice upgrade you will thank yourself on the first long drive.. Much more comfortable than the regular buckets in any truck much less a bench seat.. When you talk to them find out about mounting brackets.. The Masters might come with them for the higher price.. Here are some sites:
http:// http://www.beardseats.com/
http://www.corbeau.com/
http://www.mastercraftseats.com/
http://www.racecraftseats.com/

That should be enough to sit on../wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

thanks weazle thats exactly what i needed. i think im gonna go with the mastercraft b/c ive heard NOTHING but good things about them. and this is something i dont mind paying to get the best. i did sit in them at a show one time and they were very comfortable. the only problem is they dont make brackets for the seats so i will have to fab up my own. ive talked with Amy, the office manager several times and i think im going with them. i also thought about the ones like steel horse in jcwhitney but for the money, i would rather get these. it will prob be around a month before i get them but i will be sure to let yall know about em and post some pics when i get em in. thanks again yall
