I remember taking the little "door" off the five speed transmissions, and slapping on the PTO to power a feed box or a manure spreader on our old army trucks. After WWII the Jeeps always were shown in the farm magazine ads with the shaft sticking out the back. The hole in the rear crossmember was there for years.
