Alright, I've done a search on shackle flips, and I still haven't found my answer. According to everything I've read, you just use the front hanger in the rear, but doesn't this mess up the suspension geometry, or is it negligable? Or am I just a complete idiot and misunderstanding the whole thing...

you can either get the kits from off-road design or echobit or you can use a set of front spring hangers and mount in the rear and flip your current shackle. Problem I have seen doing that though is the shakle angle isn't enough and have seen them hyper-extend and flip over. The key is to get the shakle pointed toward the rear of the truck some. Also you may need to put degree shims in but reverse than normal being as with the flip it will point your pinion up and it will need to be shimmed back down to maintain propper driveline angles.

I see you've asked alot of questions about this. Time to get 'er done! You might want to drive over and check out my rig in Boise (Chinden & Glenwood) I've done the ORD 4" flip with stock springs. I also have a 4" lift with 315x75 tires, same as you. I have also trimmed my front fenders (which you've also asked about).

If you get a chance, you should also see my neighbor's truck. It's got everything. We both live in Caldwell.

PM me if you want to meet.

I definately want to do it

I already know I want to do it, I'm just trying to make sure I know exactly what I'm going to be doing first. Does anyone know of any online step-by-step instructions for the homebrew shackle-flip? I really don't have the $$$ to buy ORD's kit, plus I plan on selling this rig and getting a K5 sometime down the road so I don't want to put too much $$$ into it.

Re: I definately want to do it

check out coloradok5.com there are a couple home made shakle flip instructions there. Some use the stock rear shakle and cut a hole in the bottom and some people use the front spring hanger and flip it that way. Search here too. I think I posted pics on this a long time ago too.
