Hey y'all I'm in need of some serious advice. I'm new here but have been reading these for a while and y'all seem to know your stuff. I've always built my own trucks but this is my first v6 to.v8 swap.

I bought a 97 Chevy Cheyenne with a 4.3 that didn't run right. Yanked it and the 4l60e out and dropped in the 5.7 and 4l60e out of my daily/work truck a 99 Cadillac Escalade. I have both entire trucks and every part for them. I need to know which computer and harness to use. If I put the 4.3 harness in the truck and add the extra 2 injector wires will the 5.7 computer run it correctly? I know I would have to change injector locations on the harness but other than that will everything else work? I put the 5.7 harness in and would have to pull push button crap out of the other truck and use that t-case if I go that route and I really want to stay away from power anything. Other question is if that does all work what about the anti-theft that is on the 99? Will the motor run with the 97 ignition or do I have to swap the entire steering column. I'm trying to stay as cheap as possible at the moment due to when the caddy blew out the front end for the last time , as a carpenter, I was immediately out of work until I got a. New truck. And unfortunately in the midst of all this my fiancé totaled our jeep Cherokee on the way home from work so my two week vacation/me time in the shop became a frantic rush to put new truck together and get new tires and tune up motor and just everything that comes along with this kind of deal and me being be I refused to half ass it and come back later. If it's worth doin it's worth doin right but I am out of time and need this thing to run like yesterday. Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you.
