'88 NP 231 vs. '98 NP231

\'88 NP 231 vs. \'98 NP231

Has there been any changes to the newer 231's that allow for the front driveshaft turning all the time (like the TJ's) or can my '88 NP 231 work like this as well without any adverse affect.

Yep there were a few bearing/bushing upgrades/downgrades done, according to my t-case expert. the later had a bushing insert that was not as good as the older models.

Yep again, they will all turn as a following action to the rest of the radial movement the t-case makes. In other words if you have it in 2wd and traveling the front shaft will move right along with the rear but has no energy input to the axle.
