I'm rebuilding my 4.2 and may have a chance at an AX15 tranny to replace my French speaking peugeot at the same time. What parts do I need other than the transfer case? Is the bell housing or clutch different?

There is an adapter for the input shaft ( I believe) Since the input from the BA/10 has a 21 spline input shaft and the AX15 has a 23 spline there is an adapter needed.

One thing to double check is what transfer case you have, since I have an 88 and I have the NP231, and the 87 I believe came with the NP207, which might be a little different with the input shaft. Not completely sure.

Should help out a little. I'm looking for a write up that someone sent me about the process.

I saw that web site on the Cherokee. I guess my main question is will the AX15 bell housing bolt up to the rear of my Peugeot-infected 4.2L? And can I use one that was behind a 4.0 or will I need a different bell housing than that? I do have the 207 T/C and hope to change it too.
Thanks for the responses.
