Is there any seats out there that I won't have to modify to fit my old beast. I need new ones pretty bad. If not, will any Jeep seat be approx the same width as mine? I've been looking at seat for '76 and new CJ's.

I live in Rochester on the South side of the county, but work in the North end just off the Hawks Prarie exit. I'm always into checking out another Commando.

I put some buckets from a full size Cherokee in mine. They are larger in the rump area and have a bit more padding. I only had to drill one hole in each side of the existing mounts for them to fit. Make sure you get the sliders with the seats. I think I gave the guy $25 at the junk yard for them.

The good news is I have a set of all three seats that are in so so condition. The bad news is that I am in California near Sacramento. I was going to send them to a guy in Texas but UPS was having a fit over shipping. The seats could use a home.

Try a pair of late seventies early eighties bronco II seats. Extremely comfortable. Lots in junkyards. They can work as either a bench or individual buckets, some of the later ones can be electric, the passenger seat folds forward and slides about 18" to allow great access to the back seat. they are exactly the right width. The only problem is that the floor of the bronco is not flat so you have to make a little angle bracket to bolt the seat down. Try em. You'll like em.
