Hi-
Thinking about buying a 67 Jeepster which has a hood and grill similar to CJ-5 (narrow hood w/turn signals down low). Current owner was told that this was part of a dealer installed option called the "Colorado Special" sold by Denver area dealers. Has anyone ever heard of this? Could it be true? Thanks for help-

Just my opinion, but if the rest of the truck is what you're looking for, you can always salvage some "ears" and a hood from a different Jeepster and return it to original. I've seen a few CJ mods and I think they look pretty good. Changes the look, but so does a roll bar. That's one thing I love about these Jeepsters, personal build-up styles are expected because most of the work ends up being custom anyway (few aftermarket parts)

Michael's right. Don't pass it up just because of the modification. If the rest of it is in good shape, go for it. You might even try and talk the price down, saying that somebody "butchered" the front. A new hood and grill will bring it back to stock form.

Worse case, find a banged up grill and just steal the ears off of it. you don't need the grill itself if you patch the holes where the CJ signals go.
I'd care more about a well maintained running gear or rare factory options like factory air and worry about the body later (I did it the opposite and I think it'd be cheaper to buy a hood than a DANA 44 and differant gears)

Yea, that is it tell them that they buchered that Jeepster to peices and that you spoke with the Jeepster pros on this one, and it is not original. Tell them you want the price lowereed even more because they lied to you in the first place, and look that sucker up and down real good, you dont wan't to mess with a bad drivetrain, that gets into the big bucks.
