600 or 750???

I noticed NAPA is having a sale on Edelbrock preformer carbs. But I am wondering which CFM to get. I think my rebuild can handle either of them... and I am planning on putting a mild cam in soon. Right now I am leaning towards the 750 because I always go for big stuff.

Well, depends on your engine. But, if you have a mild small-block, definitely go for the 600. That's the size I use on my warmed over 408" mouse & it has nice throttle response. Only hurts me a little on the top end in competition mud races.

IMHO anything much over 600 CFM on a small block is overkill. I've got a 600 CFM Edelbrock on my freshly redone 355 with flat tops, mild cam & a bunch of other goodies and it's plenty.

I'd save the 750's for something over 400 CI of displacement. A 750 CFM would be the ticket for a 454 or 502.
