where can i get a torque converter to fit a 401 to a tf999, the stem of the 999 converter i have from the 258 is too large to fit the 401 crank. i plan to use the 999 until i can get the th400 rebuilt and adapted to the dana 300. any help is greatly apprieciated

There is an adapter ring/bushing in the back of your TH400 equipt 401 crank that you have to remove to fit the Chrysler transmission torque converter. It looks like a cam bearing if you are familiar with them. It may be hard to see if it is rusty, but it's there. You may be able to pry it out with a screwdriver or a seal remover. If not, carefully grind it through with a rotory file in a drill and it should come right out. Hope this helps.
