Re: 40\" MTR\'s & 72 Commando

I have no idea either, but I can't wait to see your rig on the foties.
Looks like you had to replace all your floor pans? Was it a difficult job? Did you have to replace the front section? Mine needs major attention.

Re: 40\" MTR\'s & 72 Commando

Bought the floor panels from the Jeepsterman and welded them over the bad floor area. The wheel wells proved to be a much bigger job. I am going to install 14" fox coilovers in the rear so I needed additional height for the hoops. I will post some additional pics when I get back in town next week.

I don't know either, but I think you really need to address your axles. You REALLY need matching tires on the front, or you'll never be able to wheel. AND you need to cut down that rear axle. What's that thing out of? A deuce and a half?

Re: 40\" MTR\'s & 72 Commando

Take a look at what I started with and you will see how crazy I have become. I am putting CRD 60's front and rear w/CTM shafts and u-joints. 5:38 gears w/ an atlas 3.8 and a 700 r-4 tranny that has overdrive of course. Vortec 5.7 LS1, I still think I will be able to go 65 on the highway. Let me know what you want for those gaskets. If they are in decent shape I will take them off of your hands.

I think I have an old pair also. If I can find them you can have them for shipping. Are you sure you want a hard top on it with the forties? I sold one of my hardtops and threw another away (recycled actually, should be honda by spring). I'm thinking a bikini top and good roll cage. Keep sending the pics. Good luck.

Moab is way to hot in the summer. I have an underdash A/C unit that is going to keep me partially cool. Have you ever seen a Commando blueprint? Well technically it is black and red.
