Howdy

I subscribe to 4 wheeler magazine and they sent me a package with a VHS and DVD, first in a series, of a Top Truck Challenge. it's a couple hours long, very well done and pretty entertaining. There's a Samurai that does well (wins some events outright) and the usual assortment of V8 [email protected]@ps and the like. There's a couple homebuilt rigs, etc. 10 in total. Tim Hardy is there as a judge.

I ususally get p!ssed when someone sends me somehting I didnt ask for, but I like this DVD so I'm keeping it and asking them to send me more stuff every couple months.

Wondered if anyone else got this package and what you thought of the video. I am deliberately not giving away all the "plot" of the video in case you get it and want to enjoy it as I did.

yup i got the video/dvd package as well. my wife bought me that same TTC on vhs back in 2000 or 2001 or what ever the year was the challenge took place. i enjoyed it because it had a couple interesting rigs such as the "rogerbuilt" plus jake's orange samurai. i kept the dvd/videos that came from 4wheeler too. i like dvds better than vhs and i think it was really cheap too.

Yep, I got one too and I love the fact that a Zuk wins some of the races and challanges. It did a lot better on the truck pull than I thought too.

Daxe, is that the one with Glenn Wakefield's green "Zukinni" competing?

nope. No GW there. There's one Samurai, it's orange. As somebody stated above, it's from 2000, I think.

I liked seeing how the different style rigs handled different stuff. Some were real long wheelbase, some short, some big on power, some not, some tall, some not. Some broke a lot, some seemed nearly bulletproof and not exactly the ones you might expect, either. All in all it was worth the $7 I paid for it, I will watch it more than once and share it with my wheeling/wrenching pals when I get a chance. I'm keeping the DVD but the VHS can go on 'tour' if one of you mugs is interested.

now I have no excuse for not using that skate wheel to take the stripe off my sami since it isnt -10 degrees out anymore, so when I do that and return your mandrel I will throw the tape in the box, too.

I got that same video last December and its definately worth watching! The Orange Zuk does very well especially for it's size! I think he runs a 1.6 16 valve and a set of Toy axles. I have an older video from the year before as well. This is from way back when they played it on 4Wheeler TV on ESPN or on the SPEED channel (I forgot which). I watched it then gave it as a gift to my cousin. He drives a Bronco 2 on 33's and he loved it.
We should do some video swapping...anyone wanna trade the 2000 or 1999 (forgot which one I have) for the newer Top Truck Challenges from 2002 or 2003??
