This is a pic with 2 coil mounts from the side w/ no coil on them if you couldn't figure it out. The measurments are for a 14" coil. QA1 says they should compress 1/3 of there overall length. Would this work? Basicaly the idea is putting the bump stops inside the coil. If you think it would work then my next question is, does anyone know of where I can get some bump stops to fit in a QA1 Coil? Don't know the specs off hand, I can get them though.

I'm new to this posting on 2 boards thing it gets kind of confusing. I looked over there though. For everyone else here is rockrats post:

Bump stops are always recomended to keep the life of the spring, F/T find some factory bump stops hat fit inside the spring. They will fit into 2"tubing, that shoulf fit inside the spring. Check daymotorsports.com they have an asortment of different buchins and coil ties.

Thanks RockRat for the sight I'll check them out.

I couldn't find bumpstops on that sight. What about this one?
code:

I found it on spidertrax. It is just under 2" in diameter and just over 2" long. Seems perfect to me.

Sounds good to me, not to $$ ether. Thanks for the help again Rockrat. Do you go to ether the Zuwharie in NC or the Zukimelt in IN? I am trying to go to at least one of them this year. It would be great to get out on the trail with you one day.

Cool maybe I'll see you there. Did you ever get the PM I sent you on the pirate board? It was about the Washers you were making. If not please check it when you get a chance and get back to me.

Oh yeah you are right on the money as far as that goes. I wasn't trying to say anything like it was too much in general, just too much for me. I am at the end of this project and the little stuff is adding up quick. I'm kind of out of funds for right now.

God I love that penguin thing!
kills me every time!

Autozone? Didn't think of looking local. I get so used to getting stuff online sometimes I forget. They are 9.99 or something like that from spidertax too. Thanks for the info.

energy suspension

a link to their website page with the bumpstops on it. Not very useful, but if you look at the picture you might get all kinds of ideas.

My local autozone has about half an aisle dedicated to energy suspension poly stuff, sway bar bushings and that kinda thing. As I recall the bumpstops were in a box rather than on a display card.

Just an update on an idea tried and modified. I was orogianly thinking of using tubing that just fit the inside if the spring. This would not be good, when axles droop they would bind causing the springs to catch and hold the axle up. So to keep this from happening I decided to go with tubing just 1.5" in diameter. This keeps the spring centered while still allowing it to compress and expand freely. Pics to come later.
