Pontiac, Put down the beer and take a step back.

"4.0 swap from a 4 banger in a 90 YJ"

4.0 = 6 cyl
4 banger = 2.5L

You wanna put a 4.0 in a 90 YJ that currently has a 2.5 or are you wanting to swap a 4 banger in to a 90 YJ that currently has a 4.0...and what does any of this have to do with your CJ?

Beer not me, Crown and coke, now where talking.

Ok we have a 90 yj that has the 4 banger and we want to go to a 4.0. Just wondering about wiring and such. I have all the motor mounts and other stuff, just wondering about the wiring.

And it has nothing to do with my CJ, my CJ sits on the lift waiting for an exhaust system and a new stainless battery tray. I wont know what to do without bungess around the battery.

Pontiac58, I found these links...also check out the forum at www.cjoffroad.com they have a "sticky" with people doing this same swap, though mostly CJ's. Good Luck!

I've been doing a little research myself. I just bought a 1993 4.0 to put in my daughters 1987 Wrangler with a TF999. If anyone has done a swap like this, please let me know. I bought everything, wiring harness, computer, flywheel, crank scensor, etc, off the donor Jeep. Thanks! Rick
