·Hi, I am a newbie to this board. I have just purchased a 1992 4.0l Wrangler and the engine has a "mechanical" sound to it. Kinda like a diesel. It has 140,000 miles, and has documented 3000 mile oil changes since it was new. (I bought it from a friend) It almost sounds like a knock, but the oil pressure warm at idle is 35 psi, and goes to about 50 on the gas.
Do these engines sound more "mechanical" than the average commuter car?
I have an 11 second Mustang, and now the Jeep is my new toy. I love it!!
