hello everyone,

I am back to finish my 4.0 L swap... (98 TJ 4.0 and AX15 into 83 CJ7)

I'm curently putting my CJ gas tank back in, with a TJ fuel pump assy fitted in.
I don't know what to do with the two holes in my tank going to the rollover check valves. The rollover check valves and liquid check are connected to the charcoal canister that I guess I will not be using anymore.

So here is my question :
What are you guys with 4.0 L in CJ's have done of the charcoal canister and rollover check valves ?

thanks for you help !

Can't just plug off the lines, you do need a vent for the fuel tank. Eliminate the rollover valves if you want and just run the vent to the canister to reduce fumes.

Yep...but how do I connect the charcoal canister to my new FI system ?
I guess the fumes stock in the charcoal canister need to be burn, isn'it ?

How is a TJ gas tank vented ? Is there any charcoal canister or system on a TJ ?

Thanks

THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT,,,I HAVE NOT TRIED IT.
To purge the canister you may try running a very small vacuum line to the intake manifold. I would use a current inlet and adapt a Tee conection to the existing inlet. Then try the engine runing before and after hooking up the canister....you may have to use a reducer in the line so as not to affect the idle.

1. Go out to Sierra Jeep
2. Take a look at the Hesco install.
3. It's pretty darned similar.
4. The 4.0L uses pulse,
5. To open the canister and draw off the gas tank fumes.
6. The problem is that the canister is also the valve...
7. So you need to scrounge/buy and mount the new canister.

i did some more research and there is an evap canister on the TJ as well..so I'll be using it..

The only things that's left is to find some rollover check valves are mine are shot and filled with dirt..

Where can I find a Rollover Check Valve and a Liquid Check ?
Or something similar ?
