Re: 33\' GEARING?

Welcome Jim, There are several gear calculators on the net. Check out the one on Izook. I run 4.16 t-case gears and 4.62 ring and pinions, and 32" SSR's that are over 32 inches tall. I find this combination to work perfectly for me both on and off road. If rock crawling were my bag (it's not) I would go with a 4.89 t-case and/or 5.12 ring and pinion. Good to see another Ohioan on the board.

Re: 33\' GEARING?

hey man, it just depends on your driving needs. i had a stock t/c and 5:12 axles for a year or more. i run 33s on my junker. it is a daily driver too. wheeled great. would have liked to have a little better low range though. i could run 80mph on the interstate with no problem. could draft 95 pretty easily. but my low range lacked a lil bit. picked up a used grsII and had to regear the axles to 4:62. its my everyday driver so i need my road speed. with grsII and 5:12s, i was limited to about 50mph. but the low ranges is sweeeeet now.

Re: 33\' GEARING?

I run 33's on mine, and right now it has the 4.16 T-Case and stock R&P's. Can't use fifth, but since my motor is strong, I can pull 65 - 70 without much sweat allthough I am turning about 4500 rpms in fourth. I will be going to the 4.57 Yukons as soon as I get time to get the axles out. I might have to take a vacation to get it done! By the way, we are located in Port Clinton Ohio.

Re: 33\' GEARING?

Hey Billy Bob, You must have had to look for a long time to find a used GRS2 I hunted for 9mo. and finally gave in and bought the kit myself. One more question who does the "FREAK's" hair, my wife wants to know, she says that whoever he is that he is "too sexy with that hair and that set of teeth." Is he from Southeast OKLA I think that I may have seen him fixin flats up there.

Re: 33\' GEARING?

4.16 T-case and 4.62 is just a tad bit high for 33"s, but very doable.

I on the otherhand has 5.12 and the 4.16 T-case. Yeah, it frives down the road, but 60 MPH is as fast as you'd want to go without squeezing the hampsters too much.

But off-road, VERY creept crawly.

Re: 33\' GEARING?

I am running GRS1 and 5:12 R/P with 32" tires and thought I was good to go and have been for about a year now but this last weekend I rode with some guys and I wish I would have been lower. I will be going to a GRS 2 soon but I never drive it on the road top speed now is about 60 I think.
