·I am pulling the motor out of my 75 CJ5. I currently has a blown 304. I have a 79 360 ready to go in. Will one of the fly wheels work? and which one.

Whassup River! General420 and I were discussing this earlier. When you took that other 360 out of that other waggy, did it have a full thickness flywheel or just a flex plate. I didn't look at the back of it. Don't know about the 304 flywheel, but someone here does I'm sure. Welcome!

If you are putting in a 360 you will need a 360 flywheel. AMCs are externally balanced and although alot of people mix and match flywheels on them it is really not recommended.

Been checking river, unless you lucked out and one of those 360's has a flywheel instead of a flex plate (I doubt it), its time to make another trip to the parts store. Found a couple of posts where guys are getting remaned flywheels for $65 to $85 bucks....not too bad but then again it's your money.

you should use the 360 flywheel on the 360. i have heard of people running 304 flywheels on them, but i would not do it if i wanted the motor to last at all. i poicked mine up from KRAGE for $102.00 and that included the shipping, and it was new. just remember that you are going to need to get some bolts as well because the flexplate bolts are not going to be long enough to hold a flywheel.

figured that one out, in my old department there were a few of us jeepers, but i think i'm the only one wehre i work now. my sgt has a nice pretty TJ that his wife drives and i keep trying to get him to wheel it, but i think he's scared of what she'd do if he scratched it
