Quadratec is now selling a new Timing Chane Cover. It says in the new catalog,
for 72-81 304 v8 #51010.00 194.95. Wouldn't this work on the 360 and 401? I thought they were the same.
Has anyone out there installed one of the Quadratrec timing cover / oil pump assemblies? Four years ago, I rebuilt my '77 304 and this is one of the weak areas of my rebuild. I didn't replace the oil pump housing and my pressure is suffering.
/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif That's the big advantage that the guys in Oregon have...their process is very exacting.....they make a science out of it, and are real proud of the idle oil pressure that the Buicks and AMCs have with their covers./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif I wouldn't THINK of putting up an AMC V8 without the trick oil pump...it's just too disheartening to watch the oil pressure go to zilchola at hot idle./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for the lead on Lind, in Eugene OR, for re-man of the timing chain and oil pump covers.... $205 is a verrrrrry small price to pay...especially after sinking $3k into the rest of my re-build job! .....I got carried away...
The AMC engine sure has some idiosyncracies, doesn't it?
