Shoot, it just had to roll over when I was turning left in traffic....
You get the picture though.

So, I happen to think about what has actually lasted that entire 300,000 miles.
Hmmmm, not much.
C6 tranny. Ford's most venerable unit.

Power steering pump. Yes, it IS the original!
Not much else, sans the frame and front/rear axle housings.
Wonder if Ford would give me a new rig for obtaining this feat?

WD40 most Reverend Gripshift ... Hey I thought there was no traffic in Montana ... anyways, check out this picture of your odometer turning 110,000 miles, back in the summer of 96, somewhere in Utah.

I doubt it. It took Volvo 1,000,000 miles to give one away and the most that one had was a valve job. Congrats anyway. My dad got 220,000 out of an original 400 in a 76 Merc before he gave the car away.

How many miles were on it when ya got it?
I got it with ~110,000 miles in '90 or '91?
The good Dr Gonz's pic actually shows the Bronc' rolling over to 210,000 miles.
Where'd you find that pic anyway? That's awesome.

Hmmmm. Shows how much larger the tires are.
Those same rpms would be about 5mph faster now.

Congrats WD-40 !

Here's to many more miles on it, and you !!!!!!!!

Guess your 80-86 doesn't have the 7 digit odometer, like mine. Mine actually looked like this today; 366127.7. Course that's in kilometres, which is just 228,829 to your 300,000.

Guess mine's still a pup. Happy motoring !!!!!!!!!!

300,000 is great!
I am about 400 miles away from 200,000 on my '96. Good post to let us know which of your components were still the original. The only things I have replaced to date are the throttle body (went with BBK) and mass air sensor. I hope my power steering lasts as long as yours plus many other things! What kind of oil and tranny fluid do you use?

Yep, that 100 miles a day on the freeway sure adds up quick. I am seriously thinking about buying a commuter car and sparing the Bronco the extra miles. The pro would be mileage costs but the con would be not driving the Bronco as much and I love driving my Bronco!
I always justify continuing to drive the Bronco by looking at the cost of buying a used car, upkeep and additional insurance. Who knows? I am just thinking about how long before something that costs more to repair, like the tranny or engine, comes my way.

You know it!
Because I cruise it at around 75, I only get aound 14 to 15 miles to the gallon (depends on if the AC is running). Doing the math with current gas prices at $1.60, it costs me about $11 a day. Still, by the time I purchased a commuter car and paid for the insurance as well as the gas for it, it doesn't make sense. Plus the loss of drivng the Bronco and feeling safer doing it!

Thanks for the info WD. I used to run the Mobil 1 10w-30 all the time until I developed a small leak in the rear main. I use the valvoline Max-Life now and it has totally solved the leakage. The synthetic was just too slippery and seeped past the seal. I liked the synthetic much better as now I hear a minor ticking when I first start up which I didn't hear with the Mobil 1. I do use the valvoline semi synthetic in my transfer case but not as yet in the tranny. Have you had any alternator issues?
