3-wheeler drive chain won\'t tighten

I have an atc 200 and the chain was really loose so I loosened the bolts the book said to loosen and I tightened the nut to tighten the chain and then tightened the bolts back up. Then I took it for a ride for about 1 minute and it was loose again. What am I doing wrong.

when you tighten the bolt again, you have to keep a wrench on the nut so it does not turn as well....also a brand new chain will stretch a bit as well...

take a link out of it, that should help.

I probabljy will take out a link but the chain hits the top of the chain case when you push the chain up. Will one link do it??

well try taking one link and if its still loose take another out, but taking one link out makes a big difference so that should fix you`re problem.
