Has anyone had one made for them? I know TT and Petroworks makes them, but I wanted to save a couple of bucks. Tomorrow, I'll bring a new rad to a local shop to see what they will charge to recore it. One of the veins has a hole in it......

Crow,

Depending on the shop, and depending on if they will work with you, I have had 4 core rads made, (not
for the zuk) by having tanks the right size, and they can add a core to near any size. Then take the zuke
brackets and solder them on. Tanks are the key for most shops. few will stock tanks, it's just not worth it.

The other way is to go thru a catalog, and find a radiator the physical size you need, and have the brackets
moved. That may not be cost effective, and will definitly kill the warrenty.

You can also make a Kick radiator fit, I did this mostly because well it's the radiator they designed for the 1.6.. and it's surface area is about twice the stock one. I used the tracker mounting arms and just cut the lower mount off and welded the pass side to the frame rail and driver side to the front frame tube.

I had one made last year for my 2.0 conversion. Cost around $250. They used the stock tanks (they stretched them about 1/2 inch) and had a 3 row core made for it. Even had them relocate the upper outlet to match the 2.0 Took about 3 days turnaround. Works great.

Checked out the local rad shop and they said they couldn't beat Petroworks price. They weren't positive that they could even match it. Bugger.......
A Kick rad won't work for me as my steering box (early Kick) would cause some interference problems due to the size of the Kick rad.....

Well, depending on where the stock engine is located (I can't remember since it's been a while since I've had a Zuk engine in the Zuk) but maybe the Mustang rad would work. I'm using it for my 4.3L swap and it came from the 65-66 Mustang 4.7L V8. It even comes in a 4 row, even though stock ones are 3 row, with PS, AC, etc... Will obviously cool the 1.3/1.6 no problem. You would need to use an electric pusher fan which would be nice; free up a few HP by scrapping the mechanical fan ;-) OR like was mentioned earlier, use a Scirocco (sp?) rad, easily fits and they can be had in aluminum but are pricey.

Cheers,
Steve
