I have stick 3.07 gears in my YJ. I cant afford to swap in new carriers, so will 3.55's do for 33" tires?

I have a couple friends that run 3.55 gears with 33", but I don't know how they do it. They usually don't have a problem offroad with them. I have the same gears and 31" and I would like lower gears, but it works fine offroad and farely well on road. It probably is because of the difference in first gear ratios.

I have a set of axles from a 91 cherokee with 3.55 that are for sale that I had in my 87 with a SOA, v-8 auto and 32x11.50s and felt thats about all the taller tire it needed on road to keep good exceleration. If you have a stick though it might not be bad. Steve
