Im looking at buying one with 100k on the od. its very clean well taken care of. its 4wd.

fuel mileage isnt concern, this will be around town family rig, most days it wont drive more then 5 miles.

im up on these rigs. they seem well built. but i have done some research and havent found many good coments on the 4.6. we do have a 95 lincoln town car with 4.6 that has had no problems with the engine. the engeine seems like itl go 200k or more.

anyways please give me your thoughts the good bad and the ugly

I'm not very experienced with the 4.6, but considering how dead this board is, you may not get another answer. I've had a 99 crown vic for about a year with a 4.6 (170k) and it seems like a good engine. I do 50mph in first once or twice a day without an issue. They've made great improvements on it since 95 and 99. I imagine the 04 is good to go. Have you found bad comments about it?

ive just heard its very underpowered compared to the 5.4
