Running Hot

Is it red all the time, no matter where you are or how you are riding.

For instance do you do a lot of fast highspeed riding or are you more of a trail putter.

This will help in my analysis.

Yamaha's tend to run hot or heat up fast if you are not running at a good clip in my experience.

try to keep the bike moving at least as much as possible avoid sitting for long periods of time just idling.

Maybe re-jetting?

Fuel, to some extent, is used to cool the engine. If you are running lean, you are generating a lot of heat. Try doing the 230 Carb and airbox Mods on your 250. See if changing to a bigger jet and tuning the fuel flow, and giving her more air helps cool her down? Of course, letting the head and cylinder fins get packed with mud is not good either LOL
