3 inch body lift involves quite a bit more work than a 2" body lift if done properly....the most body lift I would go with would be 2". This should give you plenty of room to clear 35's(but every jeep is different) so that is my guess.

If your TJ has AC then you may run into a problem with the AC lines and the radiator flang if you use a body lift over 1". I've heard about an Engine Mount which raises the engine 1" which would allow you to fit a 2" body lift without a problem. I think it was Currie but I'm not sure.

Otherwise I've heard about people cutting part of the radiator flange to accomodate the AC and 2" body lift. I think the raised engine mounts is the way to go though.

I agree with absolute, the 2" body lift would be the biggest one that I would go with. You will only have to do minor(if any) changes and will get a solid 2" of lift for clearence of the 35"s. I personally would not go with a 3".
