Pro Comp are DEFINITELY not the softest springs. Tuff country are nice, but the softest would be Old Man Emu or National springs. I run the pro comp and i like them just fine but they are stiff, alot of people have had trouble with pro comp so i can't really recommend them.

I run Rancho and have tried a few tricks to soften the suspension but it is still stiff. I would recomend Old Man Emu, National, or Skyjacker 4" and let it settle to 2.5"

I'm running Pro-comp on my 88 and have only one complaint. When putting the lift on, the rear shocks had to be installed upside down. While everyone says that it shouldn't affect anything my buddy claims my shock rate is whacked up. I wonder if it's because there upside down. We run OME springs (coils) on our Land Rover and love them.

Well, I use to run Rancho 2.5" springs on my YJ. They were not stiff. In fact, they flexed well enough for me to stuff my fenders with 31x10.50 tires and sway bar disconnects. They ride nice on the trail and on the road. I have no complaints about them. The only reason I don't run them any more is I wanted more lift.

Only 2" of lift advertised, but I like my BDS springs.

i think the pro-comp shocks are most of the cause for the stiff ride. my springs are softening up and with the recent addition of rs9000s on all four corners, the ride isn't so bad anymore. the body doesn't follow the wheels as much now on bumps, the suspension is absorbing the sharp hits that used to get transfered to the frame. it's much more enjoyable to drive more than an hour in.

I currrently run Superlift's 3.5" softride springs and I like them a lot - good ride on-road and flex well off-road. But I've only had them about a year and don't know if/when they will sag.

Thanks for all the replies, I've decided on BDS for now sense the local shop has them instock and cheap. Later I will probably step up to rancho or tuff country
