Hi, I'm new to the post i'm 19 y/o and have a 1999 Z71 Lt its spotless truck i have had since it was new never been ate or smoked in, never been in the mud. I'm planing to upgrade tires to BfGoodwrench All terrains k/o 285/75/16 I guess this size fits, Also i want to know about adjusting torsion bars and such/

285/75/16 might fit, but you will have very close tolerances, and you should not turn up your torsion bars very much if at all because it will rapidly wear front end parts. Your cheapest solutions to fitting 33"s (285/75/16) would be a 3" suspension lift or a 3" body lift. And yes, 3" suspension lifts are ok if the kit includes a differential drop bracket so your cv joints don't wear out.

All I am saying is this gentleman wants to know if there is a slightly smaller tire that he could go with that would still give him the look without running into fenderubbing problems and given that it has also been mentioned that 285's might do that he wants to know what the next size down is and I know that is what he is asing I simply do not know what that size is. For all I know it could be 31's and that is were he is currently at. I am not sayig your dumb or something I am simply saying I think you are misunderstanding the question.

I Didn't mean to Start a Huge Fight, But I think i have answered my own question ,{ correct me if i'm wrong} but i have seen a set of 285/75/16 on a Z71 just like mine he said he did nothing but trim the plastic edge thats on the front of the front fender. Are Bfgoodwrench At's a good choice for what i want? 95% on the rode

good choice.....i would get Cooper Discoverer A/T's but its up to you. they are as good but way cheaper

285's will you might have to trim, you might not, but it will look good

This is great! You dad is a tire dealer. Take it down to his shop or any shop for that matter. Have them mount whatever sizes you are looking for on a wheel that is the same size as what you are using. Just test fit various sizes until you find one that you like and will work. 285's should fit with maybe some minor trimming like you mentioned. No shop should charge you for doing this testing. They want to make a sale and if testing different sizes and more work will make a sale, they will do it.

As for you other question of whether or not BFG AT's are good, yes they are. I have been running them for a wire now. Keep them rotated and they will last at least 50k miles if not a lot longer. They are good in dirt and moderate mud (what you might be in) and have good road manners along with being quiet. They are also pretty tough, as in puncture resistant (IMO). The only complaint I have about them is that the tread pattern like to grab small rocks and lock them in the tread. You will notice a lot of clicking as you drive down the road becasue of the small rocks in the tread. Not really a big deal, but can be annoying. I just made a habit of walking around my truck looking at the tread to check for rocks, if there are any I just take them out with my key.

1500 2wd's come stock with 235's.....so not really.

also go to that site www.tyres1.com they have a calculator that you can put in metric tire sizes and it will tell you what they are in inches and all kinds of other stuff
