·Hi;
The check engine light is on, and I would like to know how I can retrieve the code.
I have searched the archives, and found the link to the BroncoData website, however, I still don't understand what I have to do, the model specific instructions seem to pertain to the 4.9 and the diesel. (must be F-series).
Do I need to use jumpers, and of so, where is the computer/jumper connector located?
I got the verbal instructions: Use a jumper wire to connect the signal return pin on the diagnostics connector to the Seld-Test Input (STO) connector.
I just don't know where in the engine the diagnostics connector is located.
Do I need engine on and engine off tests?
I think I can hear an exhaust leak in the engine compartment (my manly bronko sounds like a VW under load), is this a likely cause of the check engine light?

P.S. Just in case, it is a 5.0L engine, but I don't expect 5 or 5.8 would affect the code reading procedure.
