I need some info before my boyfriend does something stupid. The fuel tank needs to be replaced and I need to know if the fuel pump is located in the tank or not, because that year has two different tanks. Please help if you can.

if it is fuel injected, which i believe all engine options were by 89, its got a pump in the tank.

the differences in the two tanks i believe is just capacity, ford offered a 26 gall. approx., and a 33 gallon capacity tank for the bronco.

Yes, the pump is in the tank. The difference in the two would be capacity. 25.5 gallon or 33 gallon.

if we had pics of YOU pointing to your gas tank it might tell us a little more.......ah come on it was worth a shot, seriously though it is gonna be in the tank, but you have checked all the obvious things first right. (relays, connections, etc, use a test light)
