Can anyone tell me what the 4 wires on the regulator are? I need this information for trouble shooting a under charging condition on my jeep. (at least I suppect that it is under charging according to my amp gauge). Any help would be great. This is a Motorola alternator system. Thanks, Carl

I do know that the green wire is the field, and by applying 12 volts to this wire will full field the alternator. To be real honest, you shouldn't try to fix this system, just relace it with the Delco internally regulated alternator. Your old Motorola is only good for about 35 amps, and the Delco,s are 65 to 90 amps. The price of a rebuild, and new voltage regulator, is about twice the price of a Delco.
