hey guys, i'm looking for opinions on 1.6 adaptor kits. what i'd like to know is what kits are the most complete, how strong are the different kits and do any of them come with a wiring "how too" reference guide. i tried search under "1.6 adaptor" but no luck.
thanks.......jeff

As far as I know, they are all about the same. I made most of mine, but it was more work than it was worth. I ended up using the Petroworks motor mounts and I like them because they are a 'contained' mount and lower the engine enough to shut the hood without a body lift (or at least a partial one as some folks use). I don't beleive that any of the kits come with a how to wiring guide. I started the wiring job myself, and then decided I didn't hate myself that much and had Trail Tough redo the harness for me. I understand that Aftermarket 4x4 (I hope I got the name correct) is also redoing harnesses now.

i remember back in 96-97 the hot samurai swap was the 1600 8v and everyone was using a "weld on tabs" kit or homebrew set up. i don't see any vendor selling the weld on tabs kit like victory engineering did back in the day though.

i think ga zuki on this board has an adapter plate that he sells cheaper than the other vendors but i could be wrong.

My buddie an I both just did 1.6 8v swaps, with the trail tough kits. Thats the first kit either of us bought,Id have to say both swaps went in perfect not a single problem with either. The hoods close but theres no way it'll hit. Both were done in 2or3 hours. I highly recomend it!
