Question on EFI swap
Swapping in a EFI setup out of a "90' INTO MY "88".
Do you just swap in the dist. from the "90", does it bolt in its place?
Do I need to swap in the tank with the electric fuel pump, or can I just go with an aftermarket pump, filter, what about the fuel lines, don't they need to be the the high pressure lines off the "90"?
What works the best?
Any other tips about the swap would be appreciated.

Sami 4x4,
You must swap in the Disty as you need the computed reference signal to fire the injector. Yes it bolts right in.
The fuel tank & pump is the easiest way to swap out as the pump is set to the factory pressure and dialed into the EFI setup. You must the fuel lines off of the EFI. They are all designed for higher pressures. I do believe you will need to swap the entire Electrical harness in the engine compartment and under the dash. The junction block harness is also different but the wires can be "pinned out" and replaced on an individual basis. The processor is completely different and also must be replaced. Mark everything very carefully as you disassemble it so you can reinstall it correctly.
This conversion is tedious and time consuming but it is definitely well worth it.
Off road Characteristics are greatly improved over the Carbureted models...You can climb just about any angle that you have the guts to do........ No stalling or sputtering as with the carbs... Good Luck. Keep me posted...

I have 9 Zooks and 3 are EFI units. They blow away the carbed models in reliability & performance...

sami 4x4...You must have the computer and all the wirin or the thing is practically crippled without it...I got a 92 and love efi man! Oh and watch out how you do it cause if you do it wrong then you just bought yourself a new brainbox so I nearly found out! not much experience with carbs but this swap is definitely worth it!
