Re: Pre-heat hose

If you've jamed your choke plate open or threw it away and have a header, she'd make early morning driving much easier. I am thinking on hooking mine back up...

Re: Pre-heat hose

I may not have been to clear the adapter I am looking for is the rubber 90 degree that connects the hose to the intake. Went to autozone , advance autoparts , NAPA and Carquest . Everyone only had 18".

Re: Pre-heat hose

Hi ZukOhioLuvver;

I do have an old one from my 1988 (early) Zuk... The end of the hose itself is brittle (where it attaches to the exhaust manifold)...
During the summer, I removed the hose completely and my Zuk had extra power and zip!!! However, we just had a cold snap
in PA and the little engine would not idle below about 2000 rpm... Since the old one was OLD, I ordered a new hose from my dealer ($55)!!
I installed it two days ago and my engine is now idling at about 900 rpm... with a slight power loss... Obviously, that pre-heater hose is
DEFINITELY NEEDED for cold weather!!!

The air intake adapter of my old hose is fine... it's the HOSE portion that is cruddy... If you can't find one locally, e-mail me directly at [email protected] I'm near Philly in PA.

Take care
