Southern NY wheeling?!

Today I had made my mind up and decided that I am moving back to Long Island NY next month, but by doing that I'm losing a great wheeling area here in Ohio. Before I left, there wasnt too many "legal" areas to go on LI, so I went here and there but it was mostly trails or the beach. What can I find an hour or 2 from the city for sunday wheeling trips?

Re: Southern NY wheeling?!

Great to have you in this neck of the woods Doug! I believe there was an area in Sterling Forest that was open to wheelin'. I don't know of the status now though. I will check it out. I was running the beaches, but that is just for fisherman and is strictly regulated. I once got pulled over because I was going 2 mph over the limit. I think the ranger just didn't appreciate the likes of me.....

Re: Southern NY wheeling?!

There is always Paragon in Hazelton, PA. It's about 2.5 hrs from NYC. There is 15,000 acres of just about any kind of off-roadin you could imagine. You can check out their web page at http://www.paragonap.com. There is also a group of off-roaders from NJ, NY, PA, MA, etc. who organize monthly rides at Paragon. They hang out at http://www.rockdawgs.com/forums

Doug,

There is some good wheeling spots up around me. I am located about 1/2 hour south of Albany.
