two questions

i've also seen oil leak fixes, but never a very good explanation. my truck leaks in between the tranny and the engine. at least, that's the location that i looks like it's coming from. the tranny is covered in oil. the front driveshaft, and everything else in that area as well!

oh.. one other question. what other vehicles have the same bolt pattern as the samurai????

Re: two questions

There are 2 o-rings on the distributor that keep oil inside the engine, they are commonly found bad. I do not have a source on them...

Re: two questions

During a recent clutch install I found an O-ring seal inside the bell housing. There is a plate with like 6 bolts in it. If that is where the leak is coming from then when you open the bell housing it should be full of oil.

Re: two questions

1. pressure wash engine and trans. Then you can start looking for oil leaks. Could be distributer, rocker cover, head, rear main seal. Probably something high if it's all over the tranny.
2. Bolt pattern, if you're talking about wheels they're 5 on 5.5 ". Ford, Jeep and Dodge of various years use this pattern. Check before you buy. Check for offset some older wheels will not fit over the front calipers and the centers may be to small to fit over the hubs

Re: two questions

I got my D-o-ring from the dealer. I think I paid $2.00 for it.

Re: two questions

You can get those distributor "O" rings from Petroworks. The ones you take out will look like hard plastic.

Re: two questions

I find that permatex seals the distributor just fine. I'v tried O rings from the hardware store and they don't seem to be able to deal with the heat or the oil contact weakens them.

Re: two questions

A good chance it's the distributor caseing o ring. it leaks down the back of the block and hardware stores don't carry that size but i think one for a 1.6 is the same and only a dollar fix
