wheelin a sami!

well my jeep is still down with the eng/tranny swap so my buddy offers me his zuk to go wheeling sat. i don't usually like to borrow peoples rigs for fear of carnage but he talked me into it and gave me a "don't be afraid to give it hell" when i was leaving. well anyway i went ot this place and met a buddy and a bunch of other rigs. well the sami impressed the heck out of them....and me too. i got up a hill that had a 3-4 ft wall at the top and as far as i know only my buddys bobbed scrambler with one ton axles and 38.5" tires was able to make the same hill. this samurai climed anything and everything i pointed it at. i did have a short day though because i broke a samurai d/shaft u-joint. the rig in question is a samurai with a 8 valve efi 1.6L, grs1, wagoneer dana44's(5.38's, welded rear, locker front), wagoneer springover, 97" wheelbase. anyway i just thought i'd give a report of a fun samurai weekend.

Re: wheelin a sami!

Brian hurry up and get yours going before the little one gets here. I got my yota axles in Sunday. I just got to plumb the brakes and she will be ready. Looks like first trip will be Barnwell on the 3rd.

Re: wheelin a sami!

Hi brian,

glad you liked your experience with a sami ... i guess 90% of the people on this board started in a similar way... ;o)

" this samurai climed anything and everything i pointed it at."

donīt be too hard on it... samis are notorious for doing this all the time...
;oP

Welcome, ...

you will be impressed on the prices for sami-stuff... more often than not half the price they normally ask for jeep stuff.... and then keep your eyes open for a used one...

samis can be more fun than a barrel of monkeys ....hehehe

take care

Alfred
