Steering Wheel dilehema!

ok i just got my sammy....drove it for 600 miles between saturday and sunday and i love it...however...that steering wheel has got to go...i feel like i am driving a city bus and i keep bumping the horn because it is so damn flat. my question is....any of you guys out there running an aftermarket wheel? what wheel are you running? does it have any kind of dish to it? how hard was it to put on? pics?

thanks

Re: Steering Wheel dilehema!

hey man, im running 33s on mine, also running a grant g/t series small diameter steering wheel. it can be a bear to steer *SOMETIMES*, but definately worth the trade off. i got sick n tired of bumping that derned horn too. if your stock or realitively close to stock, it *shouldnt* be much difference as to steering it. not to me anyways, im a farm boy n used to powerful steering. all power my arms gots....

Re: Steering Wheel dilehema!

What you don't like your elbow horn? I hear ya but I can't lose the turnablity of the bigger wheel. So I am going to add a off switch for my horn. That way I can turn it on and off when i want.

Re: Steering Wheel dilehema!

If you want to stay with a larger wheel try a Sidekick they work great and are much nicer for a smaller one try a Swift GTi or a Sprint Firefly Turbo

I must be doing something wrong. I actually like the steering wheel ... and I don't remember ever bumping the horn accidentally!!??

Re: Steering Wheel dilehema!

Here's a picture of my Grant steering wheel. It is a slightly smaller than the stock wheel and has more dish.

Re: Steering Wheel dilehema!

most of the guys i wheel with unhook the horn for that very reason. unless you have power steering i wouldn't recoment a smaller wheel. you might get by if it is a street sami but off road you'll want the extra leverage the larger diameter wheel can provide.
