FYI: Programming Keyless Entry Remote

Worked on my 98 Sidekick Sport JLX.

Empty the glove box and squeeze it's sides so it opens completely and is hanging upside-down. Look in/up towards the center console/stereo area - there is a black box with white letters which clearly identifies the Keyless Entry control - it is 4" X 6", on the side is an opening where wires go in. The box is probably connected with a zip tie which will need to be cut in order to get at the box. Remove the 4 screws holding the box together. Inside is a circuit board - there is a small blue button switch and an red LED next to it. With the ignition OFF, push the button, the LED will flash, then press and hold the LOCK button on the remote...the LED will go solid for a moment, then flash - immediately repeat this for the other remote(s). After a few seconds of inactivity the LED will turn off. All remotes MUST be done at the same time. You're done. The tricky part is reattaching the control box so it doesn't move around. 5-10 minutes is all you need. Good Luck.
