grease problem

o.k., so the other day, i go to install a battery hold down kit...simple, right? turned out, i needed to replace the ground cable on battery and some other things...well, when i'm under my rig, i notice on the passenger side of my front axle, at the point where there's like a ball type steering joint on axle, i noticed a lot of wheel bearing type grease...is there a seal there, or is this the notorious birfield joint??? and how do i fix??

Re: grease problem

You need knuckle seals and felt pads. They are factory parts not available aftermarket that I know of.

Re: grease problem

Speaking of birfields, what are they? I've seen 20 of them at the local 4x4 shop on the "wall of carnage" but don't know exactly where they are? Are they like CV joints on chevy/toy IFS?

JEEP, it's what's for dinner.
