good or bad economy?

Here's what I'm running:
- 1.3ltr engine
- 30ltr tank
- 32" BFG MT's
- stock gearing

I can sit in fifth gear on the highway @ 110km/h(approx 70miles/hour) with the occasional need to drop into fourth gear.

Out of that puney little 30ltr tank I can get approx. 320km(200miles).

I'm also running without the roof on and nothing in the back so it's catching a lot of wind.

Is this good fuel economy?

Re: good or bad economy?

Sounds decent enough. Remember, pushing those 32's takes some effort. Without accurate math figures, I'd say you're getting around 24-26 mpg.
My range is about 150 miles on a tank. I'm pushing 33x13.5 claws and getting 20-22 mpg with 5.38 gears and stock motor.

Re: good or bad economy?

Hey, that's almost dead on 25 mpg. That's good economy, for that setup!

320Km / 30L = 10.67 Km/L

10.67 Km/L * 2.3519 = 25.1 mpg

Re: good or bad economy?

What is your RPM at (I can sit in fifth gear on the highway @ 110km/h(approx 70miles/hour) ) ?
If you want to run at 70 MPH and you RPM's go to high you may loose MPG.
I know I get some of my best MPG in town. I am running 4.62's with a GRS1 and 33 TSL Radials,
with a 1600 16V. I got 24.5 on my last tank, the top speed on that tank was 50 MPH with most of the
driving in town. If I run 70 plus I loose a little becouse of the RPM's. On road trips (in the past) I have lost
1-2 MPG on average. Not sure now that the motor seems to be braking in (milage has been going up).
Just a thought.

Gary :-)
