Try like 25 psi, it may ride a little better, the 40's is way too high.

The proper way is to take some chalk and make a mark across the tire. Then drive the Zuk a few feet on level pavement and check the chalk mark. When it's scuffed completely across, drop another 2-3 psi and you're at the optimum pressure for running on the road. Too much pressure and the center will wear prematurely, too little and the sides will wear and not the center.

Keep in mind your Samurai is a couple thousand lbs lighter than the pickup trucks these tire manufacturers figure are going to be runnin their tires. I' go for the low to mid 20's for pressure and you'll find a much more comfortable ride!

I've jacked mine up to 30 psi for steering ease.. I need to to the chalk method to make sure I'm not wearing wrong... Time to rotate them too! I run about 5 psi off road.

I'm LOCKED!

these are steel belted radials, will 30psi
overheat them or screw up the handling?

Re: PSI recommendation for super swamper radial TSL ?

Like Rollerskate said, mid 20's should work fine. I run my 32x10.50's on 15x7 rims usually between 24-30lbs. Lower is cushier, and higher makes turning the steering wheel easier for the wife.......and on the trail I find 7 lbs gets pretty good flex for the rocks, and I haven't lost a bead....yet......
Hope this helps

you shouldnt loose a bead with 7 PSI, I ran 3 PSI and never lost a bead. My swampers still did not seem to flex much even that low

The commen way to find the "Correct" psi for a tire/rig/wieght is the chalk method Jeepn said.
The first place to start is the manufactures recommendation- You have a tracker/kick right?
what does the door plate say? then try it and see if you get bounced off the road... If so then try them aired down a little and see if that helps the ride.

Re: PSI recommendation for super swamper radial TSL ?

i just lowered it to 36 front,34 rear.
stock tire pressure is 23/23 according to door sticker.
that would be too low for my tastes.
i'm going to spraypaint a line across each tire and
see how it wears off.that should be better than chalk.
