Re: Anyone Interested in an Aluminum Tub?
I see some potential problems here.
First, the dissimilar metal contact will cause corrosion at any points of contact. Also, any copper wire that has a crimp connector at the end will corrode up the copper wire.
The rigidity beams (for strength) in the body will also have to be made of Aluminum.
There are some solutions. I'd use some Ox-Guard, or something similar, that will inhibit the corrosion due to dissimilar metals at all steel mounting points (antennas, body mounts, seats, etc). I'd also use tinned marine wire that is corrosion resistant. Unfortunately that means re-wiring most of the Zuk, or at least the ground connections.
