News from NYC

I'm home and safe (so far). Unfortunatetly, the same can't be said for thousands more. Both Trade Towers are down. Collaterial damage is unknown, but feared to be extensive.

I work in this are very often (not today, thank God), as I am a NYC Transit (Subways & Buses) environmental consultant. On any given day there is around 1/2+ million folks within the 5 block radius of the WTC. I'm shaking as I have many friends and collueges down there. Right now, we are unable to locate/reach two of our field technicians. I pray that they are okay.

I was in the Battery back in '87 when that last WTC bombing occured. Since that day, I've feared exactly what has happened today. I am seriously going to move my work location. No money in the world is worth living in fear and losing one's life.

My prayers go out to those victims at the WTC, Pentagon, Camp David and what ever areas are next. I pray that it is over, but I fear that it isn't.

Re: News from NYC

Thanks man. Haven't heard from Crow. I hope all is okay.

Phone service is very sporatic. Cell service is non existant. I was lucky to get online, and I'm not shutting off until I email everyone I need to, as I don't know when I'll be able to get back on.

Watching news now. Two war ships are moving into NY Harbour to provide protection. Armed National Guards are moving is to keep the peace. Really not good. There are throngs of people walking over the bridges to get out of Manhattan. Routes upstate are jammed with folk trying to flee by car/auto. All mass transit has been suspended.

This is going to take a long time for NY to recover from.

Re: News from NYC

Tim,

I'm glad to hear that your Ok. Unfortunately I have a cousin who works in one the WTC buildings. There has been no word from his family yet as to his condition. I am praying for a good outcome on his part and all the families of others involved in this tragic event.

Wayne

Re: News from NYC

Glenn -

You are right. I wish we took the first bombing seriously. But I can tell you this, life will dramaically change from here on it, especially in the metro-NYC and DC areas.

Wayne - I am truly sorry to hear that you have no notice of your cousin yet. I pray that all will be okay.

Still no news on my two technicians.
